London Olympic Velodrome and BMX track opening date set

Olympic Velodrome, Stratford, The site boasts the 6,000 seater velodrome
The Velodrome and BMX track, on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, east London, will reopen on 4 March 2014.
The renamed Lee Valley VeloPark will offer sessions from £2 for club cyclists and £4 for individual riders.
The site boasts the 6,000 seater velodrome, a remodelled Olympic BMX circuit alongside new mountain bike trails, and a floodlit road circuit.
Around 600,000 visitors a year are expected.
Cycling stars of the London 2012 Games will participate in the grand opening.
'Unparalleled facilities'
A year ago, riders such as Dame Sarah Storey, Sir Bradley Wiggins and Laura Trott powered Britain to a world-beating 16 gold medals - eight in the Olympics and eight in the Paralympics.
They will be at the velodrome on 14 and 15 March as the grand finale of Revolution - Britain's top annual track cycling series - has been moved there to coincide with the opening.
The Lee Valley Regional Park Authority (LVRPA), which runs the site, called it "the world's premier cycling venue".
The VeloPark must cater for everyone from children to champions, according to LVRPA chief executive Shaun Dawson.
"It is iconic and sexy and where the Olympics were held. It will help to pay for the community stream (of programmes) but we need to strike a balance with the pricing," he said.
"For people who have never ridden a bike, to those who are setting world records, these unparalleled facilities will deliver the Olympic promise of inspiring a generation."
Learn-to-ride programmes for children who have never been on a bike before, coaching, major international championships, all-ability sessions for people with additional needs, and programmes for schools, clubs and leagues are planned.
The venue is also part of the UK's bid to host the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
